The Art Museum of the University of Memphis (AMUM) is a museum of visual art and culture. AMUM serves the University and its region as a resource and laboratory for the study, interpretation, and presentation of the visual arts and the dissemination of artistic scholarly research.

Museum News
Attention: The African Art & Crone Galleries will be closed due to major construction
and renovation projects happening during the summer into the end of August. This construction
will result in an expanded African Art Gallery that tells a more inclusive story featuring
all the regions of traditional African arts and an upgraded museum collections storage
area. But stay tuned for a sneak peek of the African Art Gallery's expansion seen
in AMUM's next exhibition "All of Africa" opening July 13, 2024!
In the meantime, the museum's ancient Egyptian Gallery and main Gallery exhibitions
will remain open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. For more
information, please call (901)-678-2224.
The Museum will not be opened on Saturdays until June 28.
